Sculptures :: Birds :: Medium Birds :: African Jacana (Actophilornis africanus)

In this piece I was able to realise two new concepts. I had been toying with the idea of combining silver into a bronze and decided that this would be the ideal piece. I cast the chest in silver, surrounding it in a rich russet-colour bronze which emphasises the silver.
The second novel idea was to use a polyurethane resin as a base for the bronze. This simulates water, giving both a wonderful reflection and refraction
