Sculptures :: Birds :: Medium Birds :: Helmeted Guineafowl (Numida meleagris)

This sculpture was inspired by a trip to the Kruger Park while watching a small flock of guineafowl roosting in a zebrawood tree on an extremely hot day . The composition made such an impression that I knew this would definitely be my inspiration for my next sculpture.

It is an exceedingly complicated and intricate design with the tips of the branches forming a perfect square.
The mould comprises many sections and was complicated to construct. One of these wary birds is watching you from every angle as you walk around the sculpture.
