Sculptures :: Birds :: Small Birds :: Cape Rock-Jumper (Chaetops frenatus)

This beautiful bird is endemic to the southern part of South Africa in the mountainous regions where the fynbos flourishes in abundance. I decided to cast the conspicuous malar stripe in silver to accentuate the striking white areas on the throat and wings of the bird and set garnets for the eyes.
